中国学习者英语口语词汇特点

大学英语专业四级口语考试和大学非英语专业四、六级口语考试实施以来,英语口语词汇在英语教学领域逐渐引起了广泛的重视。本文以库容为100万次词的SECCL、WECCL、BNCS和BNCW为语料,通过中国学习者和英语本族语者口语和书面语的对比,对中国学习者英语口语词汇特点进行了定性定量的分析。借助计算机辅助手段,特别是MicrosoftVisualFoxPro程序和SPSS统计软件,作者对中国学习者英语口语词汇在词汇量、词汇覆盖率、词汇密度、词汇增长率、词长、高频词、低频词等方面进行了研究。在词汇量方面,BNCS为10,783,BNCW为41,426,SECCL为5,497,WECCL为8,605;在词汇密度方面,BNCS为0.0105,BNCW为0.0414,SECCL为0.0038,WECCL为0.0085;在均匀词长方面,BNCS为6.48,BNCW为7.41,SECCL为6.36,WECCL为7.37;在词汇增长率方面,BNC口笔语的增长曲线差距很大而SWECCL口笔语的增长曲线差距较小;在高频词方面,BNC口笔语中排在第一位的单词分别为be和the而SWECCL口笔语中排在第一位的单词同为the。以上各个方面表明,不同于英语本族语者口语和书面语的较大差距,中国学习者英语口语和书面语的差距非常小。中国学习者英语口语单词量在800词左右,达到95的覆盖率而英语本族语者口语单词量在3000词左右达到95的覆盖率;在插入语、缩略语以及非正式语等方面,中国学习者英语口语与本族语英语口语都存在着较大差距。同时,在中国学习者英语口语中存在着大量的类推过度现象。【关键词】:口语词汇覆盖率词汇密度词汇增长率高频词
