美国总统就职演说语篇中人际作用解读

美国总统就职演说是政治演说的一个分支,是新当选的总统在就职典礼上向公众发表的演说。通过演说,新总统说明其基本政治价值取向,特定原则以及如何扮演好总统的角色。作为一种独特的实用型文体,就职演说意义非凡。研究这种文体有助于读者更好的理解英语语言的含义,更好的欣赏英语语言的精华。另外,这种研究还有助于改进演讲爱好者运用演讲语言的技能,推动大学英语阅读和写作教学工作。人们已经从很多角度研究总统就职演说。但大部分研究是从政治,科学,文体学和修辞学角度进行的,人际意义方面的研究较少。本论文以十篇美国总统就职演说作为语料,基于功能语法理论,采取定量和定性相结合的研究方法,从语气,情态,人称以及时态四个方面,探讨了人际意义如何在美国总统就职演说中得到体现。研究发现：(1)美国总统就职演说中,陈述语气是在三个语气结构中使用的最为频繁的一个。疑问语气的使用是为了引起听众的留意,使他们更好的融入到演讲中。(2)情态动词"will"使用最为频繁。另外,其他的情态动词的使用如“can”和"must"在实现人际意义方面也起到了重要的作用。(3)演讲者对于人称代词的使用是对当时的社会和政治环境的反映。这一点可以从inclusivewe和exclusivewe的使用中得到例证。(4)时态系统的恰当使用同样有助于演讲者和听众之间建立起和谐的关系。以上研究发现表明,韩礼德的功能语法理论在对话语人际意义的分析中具有科学性和实用性。另外,本研究也将有助于读者更为正确的理解这一类的文章。【关键词】：人际意义就职演说功能语法
