变化中美国英语对中国英语教学启迪

作为当今世界性语言的英语,其两种主要变体美国英语和英国英语的差异越来越显而易见,也为越来越多的语言学者进行对比研究。本论文基于前人的研究成果,进一步描述美语和英语的差异,阐明形成差异的历史背景,提出美语的发展趋势,即美语在世界英语中占主导地位,并扼要讨论在中国英语教学中如何处理美语和英语的差异以及学习者在使用英语时对美语和英语应持的态度。本文作者试图对以下几个问题进行探究:(1)哈利波特的个案研究中,美国英语和英国英语有何差异?(2)造成美国英语和英国英语差异的原因是什么?(3)美国英语的变化发展趋势如何?(4)美国英语的主导地位对中国英语教学有何启示?为了对上述问题进行研究,本论文采用共时和历时研究方法对英美语的差异及其形成原因展开分析论述。同时,本文还以《哈利·波特》美语版和英语版作为最新的语言材料,进行个案研究,总结其中所体现的差异。此外,本文又以美语词“OK”为例进行个案研究,旨在论证美语的流行趋势。本文有如下几方面的结论:第一,美国英语的形成是一个历史过程,也是历史发展的必然结果。它的形成和发展有着深厚的历史背景,受地理条件、政治独立、移民以及文化融合等因素的影响。因而说,美语既是守旧|英语教学论文|的,又是创新的。第二,基于对《哈利·波特》的个案研究表明,美语和英语在很多方面存在差异。语法上的差异主要体现在时态、某些惯用式以及各类词性的用法差异,而拼写上的差异更是数不胜数。第三,基于对美语词“OK”的个案研究表明,次词源于19世纪30年代的美国,最早以缩略词的形式出现,后经一系列的发展阶段被人们广为使用,如今成为世界流行词汇。第四,通过两个个案研究,作者进一步分析英美语的发展趋势,指出美语在当今世界英语变体中处于主导地位,因此中国的英语教学应改变现状,以美语为主,美语的主体地位主要体现在教材中的语言材料及选词等方面。最后,本文作者指出美语还存在很大的发展空间,因此给学者们留下了很多尚未解决的问题,这些亟待解决的问题将不可避免的影响中国英语教学,只有顺应这样的发展趋势,英语学习者才能学以致用,真正达到学习的目的。【关键词】：美国英语英国英语中国英语教学差异启示
