Abstract:In this thesis the uses of emotion in English teaching is discussed. Succesul teaching depends on a harmonious relationship between teachers and students, because students usually interest in the subject taught by the teacher who has a close relationship with them. How can teachers make use of emotional education in English teaching?

Traditional English teaching mainly emphasizes the teaching of the language itself, neglecting students’ integrated development of language emotion and attitude of learning. In my opinion, however, Succesul teaching depends on the language emotion and attitude of learning. From my teaching experience, students usually interest in the subject taught by the teacher who has a close relationship with them.
As a middle school teacher,my students are all teenagers at the age of sixteen to nineteen. They always he some emotional setbacks to hinder their study. Thus, English teachers should play an important role in the application of emotion in the teaching to help students learn English well. A good relationship between teachers and students is the guarantee for the emotional education. In order to keep the relationship well, English teacher are multi-roles in the process of English teaching. She is not only a teacher but also a good friend of her students, that is to say, English teachers must deal with this relationship well. If teachers cando that, students will be mental and physical pleasure. Students are willing to approach their teachers. They are willing to accept their teachers’ teaching. Students will be natural pro-active in the learning process. Students will do better in the learning process. So teachers should care about their students’ feelings.
Then, how can teachers make use of emotional education in English teaching? My opinion is that teachers’ teaching art isn’t to make students learn but to encourage them to. Teachers’ main duty is not only to teach but to let the students know how to learn. The teacher’s role is not a good actor but a good director. An excellent teacher is good at grasping and using the emotion channel between teachers and students to develop her efficient teaching. I he been an English teacher for over 10 years. I pay much attention to emotional communication with students in and after class. I think that teachers should care about their students’ feelings. English teacher should strive to create and keep a harmonious relationship between teachers and students in the course of teaching. In class, for instance, when students answer their English teacher’s questions wrongly, the teacher should say, take it easy, or don’t worry, etc. English teachers let their students experience the atmosphere of respect and equality in the course of teaching. such a free and relaxed environment. The students dare express their views in class. They can be improved, too. On the other hand, teachers should make friends with students and devote all the love to them. This kind of love is based on trusting and respecting them. That love should be regular and fair. Teachers can not only care for good students but also care for backward students. In other words, English teachers he to treat everyone equally. And teachers should not he prejudice when they are dealing with problems in English teaching course. They must he the same attitude to every students,
Therefore, teachers should be concerned about the feelings of their students and efforts to create a pleasant, democratic and harmonious atmosphere in English teaching from beginning to end in order to stimulate students’ interest in learning English.
